Antony & The Johnsons er et amerikansk band fra New York.

Antony Hegarty (født 1971 i Chichester, Sussex, England) vokste opp med alternativ 80-tallsmusik. Marc Almond, Billie Holiday, Nina Simone og Louis Armstrong hadde stor innflytelse. Hun sang i kor. I elleveårsalderen hørte hun Boy George for første gang. Hun flyttet til New York, der hun ble en del av byens transvestittscene, hvor hun opptrådte på ulike kabareter og utførte performance art-forestillinger på undergroundscener.

I 2000 fikk Hegarty et stipend, og samlet bandet The Johnsons blant venner fra ulike kunst- og musikkskoler i New York og spilte inn debutalbumet Antony & The Johnsons. Lou Reed oppdaget bandet, og bidro til bandets videre karriere. Hegarty synger på Reeds album The Raven og Animal Serenade, og var med på Reeds internasjonale turné i 2003.

I 2005 spilte bandet inn oppfølgeren til debuten, I Am a Bird Now. På dette albumet deltar Boy George i duetten You Are My Sister. Andre som medvirker på platen er Lou Reed, Rufus Wainwright og Devendra Banhart.
